Support issues are billed on a point basis. With 10 points per hour, each point has a value of one tenth of the current hourly rate. Partial points will be rounded up to the nearest point. PCS strongly recommends that organizations with significant investments in Microsoft products subscribe to Microsoft support.

Note: Workstation computers purchased from original equipment manufactures (OEMs) that are running Windows XP cannot be upgraded and restored without the purchase of a new SW license. This is true for computers manufactured by Dell, HP, Gateway and other OEMs. I.e. the license that came with your computer is only for that computer and may not be moved to another computer.

If you have a retail license it can be revalidated on another computer providing the SW on the old hard drive is destroyed. You can tell which version you have, OEM or Retail, by entering the control Panel and double click the System icon. If you see OEM in the "Registered to" string of digits you will need to buy a new license if we replace the main board.

It may be possible to avoid this problem by sending your computer back to the OEM for repair / upgrade. Check with your OEM to be sure.
